It may be appropriate to hold the United Nations Environment Programme talks in Nairobi, as Africa contributes to shaping the global dialogue on climate. Diplomats on the continent address the thorny question of whether it is wise to try to cool the planet by reducing the sun's brightness. While the project to dim the sun globally to protect the planet, in essence, puts the Earth's thermostat in the hands of Donald Trump, it is better for the continent and for others to adopt a principle of caution in sciences involving high risks.
